- Production of the Corvette
was moved from Flint, Michigan to St. Louis in December of 1953.
- There were 3,640 Corvettes
made for the '54 model year although the St. Louis plant was designed to
produce 10,000 corvettes per year.
- During the '54 model year a
camshaft change was made which increased horsepower from 150hp to 155hp in
the Blue Flame Six engine.
- Polo white was no longer
the only exterior color the '54 corvettes came in; three new colors were added
to the Corvette, Blue, Red, and Black.
- Red was no longer the only
option for interior color; now you could get a beige interior.
- The '54 corvette weighed in at
2,886lbs.
